Congratulations to #milfordsoar student-athletes Gus Crabtree for setting a new junior high track record in the discus with a throw of 137'6". The previous was set by Chandler Folkerts in 2009.

Several hundred kids from across the state entered the Nebraska Agriculture poster contest. Lakynn Griffiths, second grader, was chosen by Jana Hughes as artwork for her office at the state capitol. Congratulations Lakynn! #milfordsoar
The #MilfordSoar Junior High Quiz Bowl finished up their season at the Seward Civic Center today, buzzing their way to the quarterfinals before losing to #1 seed Fairbury in a back-and-forth match. This season has had a lot of personal and team victories, with the team best being the #2 finish at ESU6! Great work, JH Quiz Bowl!
Next week will see #MilfordSoar Quiz Bowl return to Seward for the last meet of the school year. This match is open to 8th-11th grades as a preview for next year's high school teams. Students who are interested in joining the team next year should try the practice Quiz Bowl questions posted on QR codes throughout the school and sent out via email and come to Mr. Leuenberger's room Friday during 4th period to get signed up for this meet.

This past Saturday 37 mentees and 31 mentors in the TeamMates Mentoring Program attended the Nebraska Football Spring Game. This was a fun memory for both mentees and mentors! Thank you to our dedicated mentors for their gift of time. #milfordsoar #teammates

Results from District Music Contest held April 20 and 21 here at Milford. Concert band and Jazz Band received high marks from all three judges. Concert Choir, Women's Glee and Show Choir all received Excellent ratings. Allyson Taylor received Outstanding Performance recognition for her Flute Solo, and Brecken Yoder was an Honorable Mention for his vocal solo. For all the results and see the images attached. #Milfordsoar 7th graders have been learning about the Middle Ages. They were able to bring history to life as they competed in a popular sport during this time, jousting. They were also able to show off their own designed coat of arms.

Congratulations to Sarah Spahr for breaking the girl's high jump school record this past week with a jump of 5'6 1/4". The previous record was 5'6" set by Shelbi Bittinger in 2012.

Bobby Meyer (Class of 2009 ) and his wife, Jenna Meyer, brought literally one of the biggest tow trucks in the world, to the Milford Preschool morning class on April 11. Their son Ryder is a member of our class. We were very happy to have them. Thanks a ton! #milfordsoar
