Milford Elementary will once again be hosting Girls on the Run this spring for girls in grades 3-6. Registration is open! Fees are now all-inclusive with the registration for both your girl AND her buddy for the celebratory GOTR 5K taking place in Lincoln on April 28 included in the cost. Financial aid is available and families can pay in installments. Thank you to Farmers and Merchants Bank for helping to underwrite fees this season! Practices will typically be held Mondays and Wednesdays beginning March 6! Some Tuesdays may be necessary because of scheduled non-school days. Last week, second grade scientists learned more about Earth’s processes of weathering and erosion through a cookie lab. Students demonstrated weathering by breaking down their cookie with a toothpick and erosion by blowing the broken down pieces from one location to another.

During a Marine career visit at Milford Jr/Sr High School on Friday Q'marion Jones, 7th Grade student, was eager to take on the pull-up challenge. With the guiding assistance of the US Marine representatives, Q'marion was able to demonstrate his upper body strength with his peers as they counted and cheered him on. Staff Sergeant Outz presented Q'marion with a Marine shirt for his courage and strength. Six Elementary students competed in the annual Seward County Spelling Bee on Saturday, January 27 at the Seward Civic Center.  All the Milford students did very well. Representing the Eagles in the 3rd and 4th Grade Division were Roy Gregory, Sophie Truhe - 4th, and Clarah Hostetler was crowned the Seward County CHAMPION! In the 5th and 6th Grade Division competing were Juliann RoanEagle, Morgan Karel-2nd Place, and Brecken Stuaffer was crowned Seward County CHAMPION!
