Meridian Honor Band

On Friday, April 7th, eight students from Milford Junior High School participated in the 30th Annual Meridian Junior High Honor Band.  The clinic hosts select musicians from central and eastern Nebraska for this one-day event.  Students submit audio auditions and are chosen from hundreds of applications.

The clinic features guest conductors who work with the students during the day and a final concert is presented in the evening.  This year’s Honor Band clinician was Dr. Brian Alber, Assistant Professor of Music and Teacher Education at UNK.  The selections included Caribbean Carnival by David Bobrowitz, Annabel Lee by Douglas Wagner, The Willows of Winter by BJ Brooks and Downtown Dash by Nathan Daughtrey.

Students selected from Milford Junior High were: Savannah Spahr - flute, Calli Kremer - clarinet, Alayna Piening - trumpet, Bryce Jakub - trumpet, Collin Piening - trombone, Makennen Havlat - trombone, Jeremiah Taylor - battery percussion and Phoebe Kolb - mallet percussion.

The concert was well attended and received by a large audience at Meridian Schools.

Congratulations to these outstanding Milford Band students!
