Fourth Graders Attend Heritage School
The students in fourth grade were able to attend the Heritage School
in Pioneer Park on January 11th and 12th. Students wore clothing from
1892 and spent their day in an old, one-room school house. They were
able to have lessons on Reading, Orthography (Spelling), History, and
Arithmetic. Students also recited poems for their teacher, Mrs. Henn
and enjoyed a Spelling Bee. Spelling words and Math problems were
written on old slates and lunches were carried in tin pails. Choices
for lunch included pioneer items, such as jerky, fruits/vegetables,
homemade breads, and hard boiled eggs. The fourth graders enjoyed
their time at Heritage School, and also realized how lucky they are to
have all the modern conveniences of 2012! :)
