Edgerton Explorit Center Comes to Milford
On March 15, Edgerton Explorit Center came to Milford! The event was sponsored and funded by the Milford and Pleasant Dale PTOs.
K-3 students began the day at an assembly, “Arctic Blast,” in the high school auditorium. John from the Center provided a 30-minute demonstration focusing on the properties of dry ice and liquid nitrogen. Students were fascinated by the incredible freezing power of super cold substances and even had fun shattering a frozen tennis ball. Grade 4-5 students also were presented with an assembly focusing on pressure systems when John investigated the magic of air pressure and the awesome power of air.
During the school day each grade visited “The Zone” in the elementary gym to explore 25-30 exhibits with hands on activities. In the evening, students had the opportunity to return to “The Zone” to share their excitement and enthusiasm with their parents and other guests.
It was a wonderful day of exploration, learning and fun for the students!
