Eagle Speech Team Season Started!

The Milford Eagles Speech Team has two contests under its belt having competed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln contest, December 20, 2009 and Raymond Central, January 16, 2010. With only a handful of competitors at UNL, the team walked away with some rich experience and a desire to improve. After a long Christmas break and multiple snow days, the Eagles were able to regroup before their next contest. The results were more favorable from the Raymond Central contest. Although no medals were scored, the following Eagle Speakers earned round ribbons: Sam rogge, 2nd & 3rd in humorous: Sarah Schumm, 3rd in poetry; Lacey Lubkin, 3rd in poetry; Zac Compton, 3rd & 3rd in extemporaneous; Aaron Hostetler, 3rd & 3rd in extemporaneous; Caitlynn Christiansen, 2nd in entertainment; Larisa Roth 3rd in entertainment; Alex Ficke, 1st in serious; Semjid Bayanmunkh, 3rd in serious; Any Jeppesen, 2nd & 3rd in persuasive; Caitlynn Christiansen, Alex Ficke, Sam Rogge, Jessy Eggerling, and Sean Stahly, 1st in OID. The OID placed 7th overall. Teams standing for Raymond Central were: Kearney-1st; Lincoln East-2nd; Lincoln Southwest-3rd; Lincoln North Star-4th; and Pius X-5th. The Eagles will compete January 23rd at the Ham-Mer Invitational in Central City. The schedule for the remainder of the season can be found on the school website.
