Milford High School Band

The Milford High School Marching Band capped off two outstanding performances on September 24th and October 1st, taking home top honors at each event.

On September 24th the Band travelled to Kearney for the UNK Homecoming Parade.  With thousands in attendance, the Band scored 99 of 100 points in the areas of marching, music and general effect - taking home a Superior rating.

On Saturday, October 1st the Band travelled to Grand Island for the 75th Annual Harvest of Harmony Parade.  Over 100 Bands participated in the morning parade, enjoying spectacular weather.  Milford received a 3rd Place trophy in class B and ranked 5th best of ALL participating Bands.

“I was particularly happy with our score and ranking over all,” said Phil Goddard, Director of Bands at Milford.  “Class B is very competitive on it’s own, but when we saw our ranking against the whole field - class AA and all - I thought our students had reason to be proud.”

The Milford High Band boasts 107 members this year and looks forward to another year of outstanding Concert Band, Pep Band and Jazz Band performances.

Drum Majorettes for the Marching Eagles this year were Maleah Hollist and Ashlea Heyen.  The flag team coordinator was Christy Ruhl, music teacher at Milford Elementary.

Congratulations to these outstanding students!
