Investing in the Future of MPS Graduates
Hello Milford Public Schools Supporters,
Everyone has a story . . . Make yours worth telling. That theme is at the heart of the work of the Milford Public Schools. And here at the Milford Schools Foundation, we are in the business of helping Milford students create their story. One way we do that is through the Milford Schools Annual Scholarship Fund. Over the past 5 years we have awarded scholarships to 166 Milford graduates. That’s 33 scholarships a year! On average, each qualifying recipient has received about $1100 for college. Now that’s what it means to help Milford students create a better story.
Would you like to help the Milford Schools Foundation continue this important work? By making your tax-deductible donation to the Foundation, you will become a part of a generous cadre of supporters whose gifts help graduates achieve their goals. We know that is true because many of these graduates personally respond by sending thank-you notes to the Foundation Board describing how the scholarship made their dream of a post-secondary education a reality. It’s gratifying to read how these young men and women are writing this new chapter in their life story.
It may be that you would prefer to designate your contribution to a Foundation fund other than the Annual Scholarship Fund, or you may want to divide your donation between funds. One such giving opportunity is the Endowment Funds. Currently endowed funds have been established in the names of Dorothy Bender, Joyce Caleca, Dale Hall, Janet Rowland and Harold H. & Patricia M. Wergin. The Trevyn Roth Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was started in 2015, is close to reaching its $10,000 goal. At that level, the Trevyn Roth Memorial Scholarship will become a fully endowed fund.
Another giving opportunity is the Faculty and Staff Endowment Fund. These funds provide financial resources to assist teachers and staff who attend workshops or seek opportunities to enhance their skill and the education provided to the students of our District.
Everyone has a story . . . Make yours worth telling. Please help our graduates create the best life story they can through a tax-deductible contribution to the Milford Schools Foundation. By making your contribution before April 8th, we will be able to establish scholarship amounts for the Milford High School Class of 2016.
As Milford Schools Foundation Board members, Greg Dunlap (’92), Dee (Randy ’68) Erb, Larry Heyen (’73), Glenda (Roth) Maury (’69), Dave Welsch (’76), Robert Wergin (’72) and Kevin Wingard (Superintendent), we thank you for your past support and encourage you to help the Milford Schools Foundation help our students create the best life story that they can.
Thank you for your consideration.
