Eagle Speakers
The Eagle Speakers participated in the Crete Cardinal Speech contest on Sat.. Feb. 6, 2010. During the competition, the following received round ribbons for placing first, second, or third in a round: Sam Rogge-two 2nds, one 3rd; Caitlynn Christensen - one 1st, one 3rd; Aaron Steckly - one 1st, one 3rd all in humorous prose; Sarah Schumm - one 2nd, two 3rd's in poetry; Jessy Eggerling - one 1st, two 3rd's; Amy Jeppesen - one 2nd, two 3rd's; Brook Rakow - one 1st, one 3rd; Mekenna Wingard - one 2nd, one 3rd all in persuasive speaking; Zac Compton - one 2nd, one 3rd in extemporaneous speaking; Alexandria Ficke - one 2nd, one 3rd; Semjid Bayanmunkh two 3rds both in serious prose; Amy Jeppesen - one 2nd, one 3rd in informative speaking; Larisa Roth - two 1sts, one 2nd; Caitlynn Christensen - two 2nds; Jill Olson - one 2nd, one 3rd all in entertainment speaking; Jacob Weber and Justin Larsen - one 1st, two 3rds; Larisa Roth and Aaron Steckly - one 1st, one 2nd; Brook Rakow and Sean Stahly - one 2nd, one 3rd all in duet acting; Caitlynn Christensen, Jessy Eggerling, Alexandria Ficke, Sam Rogge, and Sean Stahly - one 1st, two 2nds; Amy Jeppesen, Aaron Steckly, Andi Kontor, Megan Leininger, Britton Troyer - one 1st, two 2nds; Sam Olson, Jill Olson, Zac Compton, Trey Frey, and Racquel Luethke - two 2nds, one 3rd all in oral intepretation of drama.
Speakers making it to finals and receiving medals were: Jacob Weber and Justin Larsen who placed 9th in duet acting; Caitlynn Christensen, Jessy Eggerling, Alexandria Ficke, Sam Rogge, and Sean Stahly who placed 8th in oral interpretation of drama; Jessy Eggerling who placed 6th in persuasive speaking (winning honors finals); and Larisa Roth who placed 1st in entertainment speaking winning Champs finals.The Milford Eagle Speakers placed 8th out of 24 teams in the 9 NSAA sanctioned events. The Eagle Speakers will attend North Star Invitational on Feb. 13 with the Milford home meet to be held on Feb. 20.
