Third Grade Candy Corporation
On Wednesday, December 16th, third grade was transformed into
Christmas Candy Corporation! Third graders, along with parent
helpers, made five different Christmas candies to sell to
kindergarten through second grade. This is a very educational
project, which incorporates the math skills of counting change,
measuring ingredients, and measuring the size of
advertisement signs. Students also had to organize, collect, and
analyze data, create graphs, estimate the profit of candy sold, and
also work together cooperatively in a group to make a profit.
We had over 75 people helping us with this project. Thank you to
all parent volunteers in helping make this project a HUGE success!
In keeping with the spirit of the season, third graders were able
to donate $94.00 to the Backpack Program, which benefits students
and families in our district.
