Fourth and Fifth Grade Veterans Program
The fourth and fifth graders honored veterans of our community
with a program, Home of the Free, Because of the Brave. It was held
Thursday, November 5th.
The program consisted of five parts: Our Flag, Our Land, Our
Beloved Veterans, Our Freedom, and Our Hopes. Many veterans and
current military men and women were invited to attend where we
honored them in special ways.
Our program featured music including: "The Star-Spangled Banner" in
which our local Legion posted the colors, "You're A Grand Old Flag"
where our students created a flag by holding red, white, and blue
construction paper, all of the military branch songs where military
personnel stand upon hearing their song, "You Are Our Heroes" where
a slide show is presented with pictures of our Veterans, and "The
Lights of Freedom" where a battery operated candle is turned on
when each military name is spoken.
