Throughout the month of December, the 3rd graders learned about communities, citizens, and things they could do to be a better citizen. Students were then asked to complete a citizenship project in which they volunteered to help someone else out. Students did things like scoop someone’s sidewalk or driveway, read to a younger student, bake cookies or bread for neighbors, help at the local Food Net, visit people at Nursing Homes, and . . .

On January 11, 2012, thirteen members of the Milford FFA traveled to Aurora Nebraska to compete in the district 5 Leadership Skills Events. All of the students worked really hard to prepare for the contest and did very well considering most of them were competing in FFA speaking contests for the first time.

Once again Milford Junior High had numerous students with poems selected to be published in the Fall 2011 edition of the “Celebration of Poets” national anthology.
