Notes from the Fine Arts Boosters

 

First things first, Congratulations to Josh Wiley for being selected to the All State Honor Band!  Also, Congratulations to Charlie Saltzman for being selected as an All State Honor Choir alternate.

This is an honor for both of them; please be sure to recognize them in passing.

 

The Fine Arts Boosters are ramping up for a busy semester.  Although there has been some ‘behind the scenes’ work going on this past semester, you will begin to see the faces behind the names in the next semester.  Our next meeting on January 14^th at 7:00 p.m. will be held in the band room.  In this meeting we will be finalizing plans for our various activities that are coming up in the next semester.  Please come help make decisions for these activities that support our fine arts students.

 

The boosters continue to work Concessions to build up those students’ accounts, we have two basketball concessions to work in December, the 11^th and the 15^th.  We’ve also made some purchases: shirts for both band and choir.    The new shirts will be worn by the pep band during basketball games, as will the choir when they sing the anthems for some games.   We also helped purchase platforms and risers, which you may have already seen in some of the performances so far.   Other upcoming performances to note are the Junior High Winter Concert on Dec. 13th and the High School Winter Concert on Dec. 18^th.  Both concerts have a starting time of 7:30 pm and will be held in the High School Auditorium.

 

We will also be purchasing shirts for the speech team.  They will be very active in the next few months.  The invites for December and January are:

Take some time to support our students by being in the audience for them at these performances.
