Parent Access to Student Information Online

by Chuck Wergin

September 04, 2007

We are pleased to announce that parents of students in grades 4-12 have access to their child's current grades and attendance via the internet. For parents of students in grades K-3, only attendance information will be available.  Retrieving this information will be done through the district website at: www.milfordpublicschools.org. While the site itself is protected, an additional safeguard will be the use of passwords provided to parents by the district. To insure confidentiality, please do not give out you passwords and please visit with your children about the importance of keeping these passwords secure.

Our intent is to provide a password for each child during the parent/teacher conferences. During the conferences you will receive a registration form to fill out. Your signature will indicate that you have agreed to abide by the guidelines listed. This form must be returned to a school official (preferably that night). Then you will receive your login information for each of your students and access to our New Lunch Account Balance information on our website. You can also stop in to the school your child attends and fill out the information.  It needs to be done in person.

K-6 parents will be given the form during your conference with the classroom teachers. At the conclusion of your conference, please take the completed form to the office and at that time you will be given your passwords. Parents of Junior/Senior High students will be given their access forms at the sign-in desk during 7-12 conferences. The password(s) will give you access to your child(s) grades and/or attendance. You will receive a separate password for each child, and you will need to use the separate password to access each child's information.

There is a FAQ article our website to help answer some of your questions.

We are very excited about this feature that is new to our district.
