February 23, 2007
The Milford High School Advanced Art class is hard at work on their personal projects that will be entered in the Seward Women’s Club Art Contest in March, at the Seward Civic Center. The students are working on a number of multi-dimensional projects on various background materials. The projects are lengthy and students spend a great deal of time and effort on their creations. There are no set formats and mediums for the students and they are free to choose what types of mediums and subjects to work with.
Karissa TeSelle is working hard on making a picture of a dragon on top of a castle using various types of media. The bricks of the castle are made up of fimo clay. Rio Beranek is working on a self portrait of herself using coal sticks as the media. Sara Tonjes is working on a picture of flowers that she located on the computer and then distorted it. This technique creates a larger picture using paints.
Clee Shy is awaiting the outcome of his plaster of hills. He plans to keep adding colors and shapes to see what becomes of his project. Abbie Stauffer took a plaster cast her foot and is
planning to paint designs on it. Whitney Lauber is painting boards and putting them together and Shawna Stauffer is building a box with pictures of her eyes using different type’s media.ADVANCED ART STUDENTS AT WORK
