A grant written by Educational Service Unit #5 and the Southeast Distance Learning Consortium the Milford Elementary has a portable Distance Learning Cart.

This will allow teachers to bring Distance Learning to their classrooms. The technology has come along ways since the static classrooms of the past that are still in use.

Duveen Penner, an ESU 5 Distance Learning Specialist, conducted an inservice for the Milford Elementary Staff on Wednesday, November 30th.  She connected live with the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. The educational coordinator from the zoo discussed the opportunities for 30 to 60 minute sessions from the Zoo. They have a portable cart that can be connected in different parts of the zoo. Zoo keepers/animals can be interviewed and observed.  Career opportunities are also a part of the possible objectives from the zoo.
